As a young boy growing up in Cairo, I remember my parents shopping daily at the local market for fresh ingredients they would use to prepare traditional Egyptian, home-cooked meals from recipes passed down through generations.  Both worked as agricultural engineers, so food was very important on many levels. Cooking was a family affair. My older sisters would prep the ingredients while I tried enticing them to play before mama and baba arrived home. Everything we ate was made from scratch—from real, farm fresh, just-picked ingredients. Nothing was processed—down to the preserves, pickles, stews and sauces.

We are Maha, Mona, and John Morgan, American Coptic Egyptians who migrated to the States as children with our parents in the late 80s. Together, we proudly present MEZMEZ – an exquisite ensemble of Egyptian Savories, Sweets, and Spices!

Conceived by the visionary John Morgan, the youngest among the Morgan siblings, MEZMEZ has seamlessly woven the talents of his two elder sisters, Maha and Mona, into its fabric. It stands as the pioneering authentic Egyptian food brand, introducing quintessential Egyptian delicacies to the mainstream. Driven by a deep-rooted love for tradition, family, and the sheer pleasure derived from exceptional food, MEZMEZ was born from John’s desire to share the genuine flavors and textures of Egyptian cuisine with the world.

These represent a meticulously crafted selection of fully prepared and frozen ready-to-heat-and-eat foods. With a repertoire of 10 items, predominantly vegan, spanning proteins/meats, vegetables, and grains, each product is thoughtfully packaged in 100% compostable fiberboard trays, sealed at the peak of freshness.
